Australia has passed the world's first law to allow Google and Facebook to pay for news content on their platforms.

News code law has been fiercely opposed by the US tech giant.

Facebook last week  เกมยิงปลา     blocked all news content from keeping Australians from contacting each other. Instead, the decision was lifted this week after talks with the government.

After those talks, the law was passed through new amendments that made Facebook and Google free of the code.

However, for the time being, both companies have committed to paying big bucks to major Australian publishers outside the code. These deals are widely viewed as a compromise by the tech giants.

Australian law is seen as a possible test case for similar regulations in other countries to accept payments from digital platforms for news.

The amended law was reviewed in the House of Representatives on Thursday after it was previously passed by the Senate.
